Case study: HSBC Virtual Boot Camp
The Brief
To deliver a series of short, impactful virtual workshops to the bank’s Global Liquidity Cash Management regional country heads in order to continue the development of the international leadership team. Collective enterprise and resilience were to be a key focus.
The Challenge
The original in-person Boot Camp experience was repeatedly postponed due, at first, to social unrest in Hong Kong, and then the pandemic. Having vast experience in running virtual programs, we were quickly able to recalibrate and offer a virtual experience.
The Solution
Using the Heartstyles Life Stage Indicator, we ran individual diagnostics for team members followed by coaching sessions to discuss areas of potential development.
In a series of two-hour sessions ran over several weeks, participants explored how to influence others, effective storytelling, and resourcefulness and motivation. They were also introduced to various coaching models to encourage the development of their respective teams.
The Outcome
The participants got to practice much of the learning during the sessions, enabling them to fully immerse themselves in the tools and models being shared. Many of the techniques demonstrated during the sessions enabled them to connect with their teams and work collaboratively to remain resilient in facing the challenges thrown at them. They also gained the skills required to deal effectively with clients and stakeholders.
